Hi I’m Polly and i am addicted to books, and not just any old books mind, but ones that inspire me and expand my mind, ones that speak of magic and nature and the powers that be. Ones that explore the universe, this world, and the resonating energies in-between. Ones about witchcraft, druidry and provide excellent food for the mind body, spirit and soul.
Ok so i might of purchased two err three new books today.. *grins*.. for some reason i have an urge to rebuild my library sort of...*ponders this*...
Oh you want to know what i purchased... umm..

Please let the NZ$ strenghten somewhat becasue with this steep decline in value, you have casued books brought in new zealand to become really really pricey.. i mean really really pricey as apposed to the achieveable 30-40 kiwi dollars, the average book (that i want to purchas) is now 50-100 plus kiwi dollars, and that is not even for hard back, that is for "quality paper back" wot ever that means.
so in closing world ecomoy i do not think that it is very fair of you to make the kiwi dollar weaken like it has, because those of us who like to read want to be able to afford to purchas books, and according to your minions, (aka the politions) we should be spending money.. and really books are a good invenstiment.. of a sorts.
ok we sorted now, i mean really $50 just a bit much really
Please and thankyou
Polly

* Open the book to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post the text of the next two to five sentences in your journal along with these instructions.
* Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.
"The presence of slaves concubines, women who had even fewer rights than wives, and the hierarchy of status among them, must have been a constant reaffirmation of the superiority of male power"
well gosh any guesses to who the above author is?
in other news didn't get picked for the MoE job.. but that is ok.. i have an interview tomorrow.. *smiles*

who would be interested in such a book? one about other pagan books, pagan community, and pagan history, gosh that sounds kinda boring.. although i know that some people would be quite interested.. ???
would it be possible to learn a new way of speaking knowledge in lecture/talk format and get it transcribed so that it can be turned in to a book? how complicated is that process, would it work for other books??
if i am not writing for a university but instead myself would this make it easier to write/speak this research that i have collected and studied for the last 3 years, into a book of sorts?
why do i feel like bursting into tears that the though of this happening? why am i still angry at the university? did they really give me a bum deal? why does this scare me so much, why why why?

from the nice courier man, who also delivers to my work, and sidtracked a package that was going to go to my home address, by bringing it to my work address cause he was nice, .. but i digress
from the above nice courier man, i got two pointy objects,, yay.. i have been waiting on these pointy objects for quite some time, because of an issues with various authorities not understanding the value or meaning of said pointy objects, thus destroying them cause you know that New Zealand is teaming with terrorists, right! *rolls eyes*
i also got some beeswax candles.. hmm.. yummie
some herbs, mm
some magickal oil... tehe
and a pendant which i will be turning into a pendulum
and then when i got home there was a book waiting for me in the mail box.. "wicca, Magical Beginnings" which was signed by both the authors.. *grins*.. and the book is turning out to be quite interesting, so i might have to pop down to fidlels tonight and have a quiet read after work with a nice cuppa tea.. *nods*..
ok done bragging now..
also who would like to come around on satruday early afternoon and help me test run my library cataloge? aka putting books on book shelves in some sort of order??
do be do
edit: also posting at work makes for a very disjointed post.... *ponders this*
on the train, on the way back from mum's tonight my through solidified, in that yes i would really like to start a pagan lending library, i even camp up with a name.. (i likes naming things) "The Wellington Pagan Library" orginal eh? *grins* i also spoke to
now it is my goal
1/ to come up with a pagan logical cataloging system similar to that of the Library of Congress system, because that allows for expansion..
2/to build up my collection of books to about 500 or so, by asking for donations and the like, i might need some more books shelves
3/ to find a good library program, which allows lending (i figure that i can put all the books on my library thing, (or make a new account) and then re categorise them to match the category that i have created in step one) and then figure out what to do about late books etc etc...
once i have that all set up i will have a opening party and invite a bunch of pagans and my friends and hey presto a new hobby for polly...
so who would like to help? *beams*
also if you have any pagan books languishing about that you no longer want or need and they are not on this list would you like to donate them to the soon to be (prolly at least 6 months) opened Wellington Pagan Library ? if so can you please email me at mistresspolly (at) gmail (dot) com

Well bugger.. guess I will have to wait until another copy of it comes up somewhere in the world.. casue I know that they are out there.. *nods*..
Actually I was searching around for an electronic copy of sorts, but came up with a physical copy, maybe in time there will be a electronic copy available somewhere.. *crosses fingers*.. also maybe some plucky publishing house will reprint it?? *ponders this*
i will have this book one day...Rodger Phips *shakes fist*
So how did you fill up the quite moments at work today?

I am reading 'The Second Circle' by Venecia Rauls at the moment and I am enjoying it hugely. I have found the book pretty inspiring, and certainly a beyond wicca 101 book, in fact it will see the average pagan looking to advance well into the journeyman's path and in some cases well beyond
I am enjoying this book hugely and am looking forward to reading the rest of it, so when are the publishers going to pull their cowardly heads out of their asses and publish more of this witches work? Cause I really want to read it.
