so i took it with me to open   i have books, books on how to make other books.. *skips around*  books on bookbinding as an art form.. *squee!*   and i am quite excited.. *bounce*..

Book Binding... will happen next sunday the 17th of June at my house gathering at the time of 2.00pm

if you want to come along you will need to bring the following

about 20 sheets of A4 plain paper for the pages (photo copy type paper works well for learning. however you can get some nice paper from art supply shops, but just make sure that is is no heaver that 108gsm because other wise it will be to thick to poke holes into.)

2 A4 sheets of paper for inside the covers. it can be the same as the pages or it can be a contrasting colour, and it can even match the cover paper.

Cover paper A3 or bigger for the cover, this is what you use to cover the cardboard which will be the cover so it is a good idea for it to be somewhat fancy, again you can get if from an art supply shop.

4mm or 5mm thick cardboard, these usually come in large sheets, so if there are a few of you coming and you all know each other then i suggest that you share between you.. i reccon you can get about four covers per large sheet of cardboard.

two matching needles

strong white cotton, the type that you use to sew denim with. (i have a spool of this so people can have some of that if they need to!)

PVA Glue, the type that dries clear!

a stanly knife

a mettal ruler. (i also have a couple of these so people can borrow them)

a pencil

a cutting board, something to cut the cardboard that is.. we don't want to really mark up the bench! (it would be nice if some of you brought one of these cause we only have two, i will even let you take it back home with you when you leave.. *snirk!*)


and ladies, bring a plate.. well actually.. i reccon the boys can as well. just make sure that there is some sort of food in it. *beams*

Edit: you will also need some thin muslin or cheese cloth, this is to make the spine with so to speak. !!
