so Pagan Podcasting

not that different from books really, in that for the most part you get huge amounts on chatter and not much content. while i figure that there are people out there that are looking for this, i am not one of those people, i would like content please. although i have found a few, which is more than two, and am activly looking for more. i downloaded two yesterday but alay there was the issue of to much chatter and not the content i was looking for, although i must admit if it had been 10 years ago i would of loved it *smiles*.

but i have found some that i do like that have content that i am really enjoying, stuff that makes me ponder with the added bonus of actually trying some of the stuff out.. whee *skips around*.. they are as follows

DruidCast, : this is an excellent podcast, that is a really nice combination of host, Damh the Bard (who has a really hot nice accent) pagan music, and interviews and or talk from various OBOD druids, and others. it make for some interesting food for thought, and is set up so that while the music break is playing you get a chance to digest what was said in the interview or talk.. also it is always fun to here people you have meet talk about stuff. *beams* it can also be found on itunes, is updated once a month, and there are a whole 24 episodes to listen to.. wheee.. and most of them rate a second listening to so that notes can be taken.. *nods*
so this Podcast gets five gold stars on my random rating..

second up is Elemental Castings this is a Feri Podcast of sorts from the Author who wrote Elemental Witchcraft, and excellent book. T. Thorn Coyle had an excellent format similar to that of Druidcast but without the music interlude. there are interviews based on the five elements, air, fire, water, earth and spirit. the interviewees are from all different paths and styles of the pagan community at large. Thorn is particularly good at getting to the good parts and facilitating a really good in depth discussion about what the interviewee practitioner does and how and why they do it. again it can be found on itunes, and i give it another five gold stars.. *skips*

the third one that i have really enjoyed, is The Unnamed Path called so because while it is pagan this is a spirituality that is aimed specifically at men who love men. This Podcast is not interview based but instead it is lecture styles but interesting and insightful lecture styles by someone who is very passionate about their toppic, and that is always better to listen to. it has some fantastic insights into things magical and good insight into personal pathwork as well. i am quite enjoying Hyperion's take on magic and things spiritual. while i do not agree with everything he says it is nice to here a serious, intelligent and sometimes funny, take on what amounts to theology of this channelled path. these podcasts are also going to be good to listen to a second time while taking notes. i finally understand how candle magic might work, is excellent *beams* Hyperion is quite an interesting character and has a varied background rooted in a variety of experience in different types of magical traditions and styles, both good and bad, and he is an excellent charismatic speaker. what it amounts to is that he knows what he is on about because he walks his talk.. always good. this one i give five sparkly Gold Stars.. *whee*

so yeah.. still looking for other podcasts that are of similar ilk, because i listen to these at work mostly and there are 8 hours of listening or so.. so if you know of any can you link me to them. please and thank you...

*beams*

i've tried podcasts on quite a few different subjects and always find exactly the same thing; someone talking for the sake of hearing their own voice (ooh look i found the microphone on my computer!!!). most of them have crap content. The few exceptions i've found have been ones where the person doing the podcasting is actually introducing recorded lectures and similar.. so you do actually get some good, weighty content!

Probably they're not what you're looking for (too much chatter, and most of us aren't exactly experts in the Pagan field), but a bunch of us a couple of years back did some podcasts on a few different subjects. The links to download are still online: http://www.paganpoddies.org/

of course i might need to rustle up me an audience cause i speak better to an audience as opposed to just myself.. kinda like the witches library lectures, it would be fun to.. hmmm... maybe once a month... *ponders this*

hmm.. what subjects would you like to here about?

Not necessarily just pagan, but you should be able to find some stuff of interest at

http://www.occultofpersonality.com/

Which is an interview format podcast. I think.
